Bedford High School’s Jeff Myers Jr. has raced go karts since age 5. At age 15, he graduated to a stock car at Toledo Speedway and earned Rookie of the Year in the ARCA Sportsman Series. In 2014, the 17-year-old student will take another step forward in his racing career and race a full season in the ARCA Truck Series for local race team SPEAR Motorsports.

Truck Owner Steve Perkins: “I’m very excited to have Jeff in the seat. I’ve seen Jeff drive first-hand. He has the ability to run up front and proven capable in the shop as well. Add good equipment, and we have a competitive combination to make a serious run at the ARCA Truck Series Rookie of the Year Title.” But the teenager isn’t just shooting for Rookie of the Year. The team certainly has the potential to succeed. Engine Builder Don Baldwin will provide engine support. Sponsors including: Sidelines, TODDS GUNS, Flick’s, Jacob’s Ladder, Royal Blue Wax are rallying around the High School student to support his efforts.
The ARCA Truck Series is a touring series that races across the Midwest. Although the 2014 schedule is still being finalized, it appears there will be at least 11 events across 4 states with local races at Flat Rock Speedway and possibly Toledo Speedway. Jeff Jr. is still hoping to race at Toledo Speedway in the ARCA Sportsman Series when scheduling permits. The truck season opens up at Flat Rock Speedway in Michigan on May 10.
